Dutch MP making film criticising Islam
The Dutch government has warned Dutch MP Geert Wilders that the film will damage Dutch political and economic interests.

Doesn’t that smug look leave you with the urge to bitch slap him?
Mr Wilders’ film is called Fitna, an Arabic word used to describe strife or discord.
He has said his film will show how the Koran is “an inspiration for intolerance, murder and terror”.
In the past, he has called for the Koran to be banned and likened it to Adolf Hitler’s Mein Kampf.
He has been under police protection ever since another critic of the Quran got killed back in ‘04.
The Dutch authorities have also suggested that he get out of dodge for his own well being.
If you criticize the bible or most other religious texts they protest. If you criticize the Quran they not only protest, you need to go into hiding because someone is going to try and kill you.
Is it just me, or is there something intrinsically wrong with this picture?

Diabetes Diet Change
Diet changes are a royal pain.
I have been diagnosed with type II diabetes. Which means diet, exercise, and so far no meds.
The problem is that I like my beer, my In-n-Out burgers, my homemade enchiladas and so on. None of these will help you lose weight, none of these will do anything but spike your sugar levels, and all of these will get you a dirty look or lecture from your doctor or dietitian (or in my case –Both)
The problem is really understanding what I can eat, what quantities I can eat and what effects my blood sugar the most.
The food pyramid isn’t that easy for me to grasp. I think it’s something about the 4 million servings of fruits and vegetables they want. It could just be my refusal to take time to properly study and understand it, or it could be that it’s a government sponsored thing that I will never comprehend.
They also say you should eat every 4 or 5 hours. This is a good thing, I like to eat, but when you work 11 hour days it can be tough. –Something about the boss wanting me to only take 1 lunch hour per shift.
I’ve just started and have found some good online sites for recipes and advice.
I started with Diabetic-Recipes.com
A very good site run by the Mayo Clinic.
I tried a ragout that has lots of veggies and a little beef. —-I found out that a small sweet potato combined with fresh Roma tomatoes can actually make it too sweet.
It is served over coconut rice, made with brown rice cooked in chicken stock and oregano with toasted, unsweetened coconut added just before serving.
I read someone saying brown rice is bad for your glucose levels.
Blood oranges and medjool dates seem to be ok. I snacked on them the other day and it didn’t seem to have an adverse effects.
Cheese in small quantities seems to be ok and I read somewhere that you can eat all the mandarin oranges you want.
I have also discovered that finding good tasting fruits and vegetables in the middle of the desert is almost an impossibility.
I now have cravings for things I know I shouldn’t eat.
While I haven’t looked online, I’d wager that a good Beef Stroganoff made with lots sour cream, and served over buttered egg noodles is right out.
