I just received a text message that reads as follows:
LMTCB VM CYM TTYL
This translates as:
Left message to call back -voice mail.
Check your mail
Talk to you later
Ok.
I checked my email and found a message to call soonist.
I checked my voice mail and found a message to call him back asap.
I called him back and had to leave a voice mail.
He called back and told me that he was just notifying everyone in his phone book that he wouldn’t be able to get to his messages or email until late in the evening, because he was going to be in meetings all day for the next few days.
The world was not coming to an end, there was no emergency, –he was just going to be too busy to reply while he was at work.
I did not make this up. —This is too unbelievably stupid to be made up.
The first question that springs to mind is:
He may be my friend, but what makes him so important that I would care how soon he gets back to me?
The second question is:
Did he really do this to all 100+ people in his phone book?
The answer to the third question is:
Yes, he does own a Blackberry.
