Oblivion overhaul

I just downloaded the latest Oscuro’s Oblivion overhaul. It’s 400meg and changes an amazing number of things. I recommend starting a fresh game, because so many things have been modified and added.
There are new weapons, a large assortment of new critters, and not all the dungeons are leveled.
Instead of running into a vampire patriarch when you’re a level 3 and kicking his butt, you get killed, because, as far as I can tell, this npc has a set level.
All of the dungeons seem to have been modified, re-textured and so on, so this is like a new game, and without leveling they feel like the old ad&d dungeons, where there are some places, smart players avoid.
The potions are different, all the health and such seem to be so many point for so many seconds, instead of a permanent effect, and the bottles are now color coded.
The troopers now travel the roads in pairs and there are more of them, this means the roads are actually safer. Although I still want to locate the female npc that I ran into when I originally installed Oblivion, her comment was, “Whatever you do, stay off the roads.”

At least some of the mods work, like Wolfies, my hideout and the light armor mod that lets you buy pit or stalker armor.
Wolfies has a glitch that has nothing to do with this upgrade. The secrets are crumpled bit of paper, that put gold, lockpicks, repair hammers and so on into a chest in the bedroom. The glitch, is that everytime you read one of these papers, you get more of whatever it gives you. This gives you virtually unlimited gold, lockpicks and so forth.
Some of the crabs and rats are smaller, but I don’t know if the damage they do has been changed.

It seems to take longer to get to the next level, but this could just be my imagination.
I just restarted the game and I’m a whopping level two, which means, I’m getting my butt kicked in the arena, I could be wrong, but it seems that the arena npcs are not leveled and are tougher than I remember them.
As a test, I saved then installed the tower mod that gets you an invisible tower up at pale pass, so I could grab an enchanted sword that comes with it. I then went into god-mode and beat the arena, but my sword ran out of enchantments, so I don’t know if the extra damage would help but even with sword doing 10 damage I must have hit the Grey Prince 15 times before he finally died.
Now I get to go back and try to beat the arena for real. I also killed my very first opponent, and got the “observed by” message. When I slept, to level-up LaChance showed up.

As a side note the voice of Emperor Uriel Septim VII was Patrick Stewart (startrek) and Lynda Carter (wonder woman) is the voice of the Nord and Orc females.

Before you install, go to Oscuro’s page and read what he says about using your old save games, then I recommend turning off all your mods and trying them one at a time.
All in all, it seems to be a good, solid mod, that’s fun.
