Vegas
I just read the top nine list over at the Las Vegas Poker blog and it got me to thinking.
When I was much younger I went to California with a friend, and I remember trying not to look like a tourist, so I wound up leaning over and whispering “what the hell’s last call?”.
In Las Vegas very few freestanding bars close and casinos simply shut down one or two of their five to a dozen or so bars, and while it’s definately illegal to drink and drive, I’ve never had a problem getting a go cup.
A town that runs full tilt 24/7 changes the way people see the world and leads to odd questions and comments when they get home.
What do you mean “last call”?
Did you remodel? The bathroom seems smaller.
What number do I dial for a “wake up call”?
Sorry dear. I was calling room service.
Why is it so dark outside? The sign across the street must be out.
Let housekeeping take care of it.
What do you mean the store’s closed? It’s only midnight. (me, in St. George, Utah)
Hey Joe. You know, if you’d get rid of the pool table you’d have room for at least a dozen slots.
This carpet is really dull, maybe you could get something in yellow, maroon and royal blue.
